Vista サイドバーの背景を変更したり透明にする方法

Vistaサイドバーの背景って右側にいくにつれて、黒くグラデーションしてますよね。
これをカスタムしてオリジナルの画像に変えたり
全部透明化する方法について、ご紹介します。
左がデフォルトの状態、右の画像が変更後の透明なサイドバーです。

こちらの作者さんのブログで公開されているファイル(約7MB)をDLしましょう。
英語が苦手、という方は以下の画像を参照して下さい。
画像下あたりにDownloadと書かれた所があります。
使っているOSでファイルが違うみたいなので、どちらか選択してダウンロード。
ダウンロードしたセットアップファイルを実行して下さい。

Next
I AgreeをチェックしてNext
インストールフォルダを選択してNext
準備完了、Next
インストール完了です！
操作パネル左から
プレビュー、デフォルトに戻す、削除、保存、適用、読込、オプション、フィードバック、ヘルプ
サイドバーの背景だけでは無く、アイコンやボタン、オプション画面等々色々弄れます。
右クリックメニューで、選択した所の画像の置き換え(Replace)や保存などが出来ます。
肝心の背景ですが、上の画像で表示しているところ
Aero - Docked on the right(left) の画像をReplaceすると
通常表示されているサイドバーの背景画像を変更できます。
元に戻したい時は、同じ右クリックメニューからRevert to Defaultを選ぶか
操作パネルの左から2番目のボタンで、一括してデフォルト状態に戻す事が出来ます。
安心して色々気の済むまで弄ってみて下さい。
変更する画像ですが、お好きな画像を作成して頂くか、
(サイズは、150 * 738 pxです)
背景を透明にしたい方は、私が作った透明化PNGファイルを載せておきますので、
こちらからDLしてください。

画像ファイルを変更して、再生ボタン(Apply Style)を押せば、通常は即時にサイドバーに反映されるのですが、インストールした直後に変更する場合は、一度サイドバーを閉じる必要があるかもしれません。
もし画像が変化しなければ、タスクバーのサイドバーアイコンを右クリックして、サイドバーを一度終了させて下さい。その後、もう一度再生ボタン(Apply Style)を押せば自動的にサイドバーが起動します。

サイドバープロパティの配置設定で、
常に上に表示するを選択すると画像のように真っ黒に表示されてしまいます。
原因何だろう？？
と思って調べてみたら、どうもAeroのせいで(?)、真っ黒になるみたいです。
常時上に表示してもあまり見やすいとは言えませんし、閉じるボタンを押す時邪魔なので、タスクバーのアイコンから必要な時だけ表示するようにするか、もしくはAeroの機能をオフにして表示すれば背景色は透明のままになります。
デスクトップ上で右クリック > 個人設定 > ウインドウの色とデザイン（一番上） ＞
詳細な色のオプションを設定するには(ry 一番下をクリックして、
Window Vista Basicを選択すると常時サイドバー背景が設定した画像になります。
左：デフォルト状態で、タスクバーからサイドバーを表示
中：サイドバーを常に他のウインドウより上にしますをチェックして表示
右：上記説明の通りAeroをオフにして常に上に表示させているところ
この辺の設定は、お好みで色々変更してみて下さい。
もしかしたら他に解決策あるのかも・・・。

ClearVistaのThemeを適用→透明化PNGで背景をすべて透明にする→適用→ExtensionsのResizable Sideberのチェックを外す
これで真っ黒にならないはず。
